Common questions about PDF data extraction

How accurate is the AI extraction?

Very high. The AI understands PDF visual layout — not just raw text — so it correctly maps multi-column tables, merged headers, and nested data structures. You can review the extracted data in a preview before it's saved to your Drive.

Can it extract data from a scanned PDF?

Yes. Scanned and image-based PDFs have no text layer, but PDF2Sheets uses AI vision to read printed text and table structures from images. Upload the scanned PDF and the extraction works identically to a digital PDF.

What if my PDF has multiple tables on one page?

Each distinct table is identified separately and placed on its own tab in the Google Sheet — so an invoice, a summary table, and an itemised list all stay organised and separate.

How is this different from copying and pasting from a PDF?

Copy-pasting from a PDF collapses all columns into one — you end up with everything in column A and have to manually re-create the structure. PDF2Sheets reads the visual column structure and maps data to the correct columns automatically.
