What gets extracted
Every receipt field, mapped to a column
PDF2Sheets extracts all standard receipt fields regardless of the source — from retail receipts to SaaS invoices to restaurant bills.
How it works
Receipt PDF to spreadsheet in three steps
Upload your receipt PDF
Upload a single receipt or a PDF with multiple receipts combined. Works with emailed receipts saved as PDF and scanned paper receipts.
AI reads every receipt field
The AI identifies vendor details, transaction date, line items, and totals. Each receipt becomes a structured set of rows in the preview.
Expense Sheet created in Drive
Click Confirm and a Google Sheet appears in your Drive with all receipt data — ready to add expense categories, filter by date, or share with your accountant.
What to do next
Once your receipts are in a Sheet
Add expense categories
Add a "Category" column and tag each row as Travel, Meals, Software, Office Supplies — then use SUMIF to get totals per category.
Filter by date or vendor
Sort by date to see spending over time, or filter by vendor to see total spend with a specific supplier across all receipts.
Generate expense reports
Use a pivot table to summarise expenses by category, project, or team member — then share with your finance team or export as PDF.
Link to the original PDFs
Add a column with HYPERLINK formulas linking back to the original receipt PDF in Drive — for audit-ready records with both data and source documents.
FAQ
Receipt PDF extraction — questions
Does it work with emailed receipts saved as PDF?
Yes. Emailed receipts from any retailer, SaaS service, or supplier — when saved as PDF and uploaded to PDF2Sheets — extract cleanly. HTML-rendered email receipts converted to PDF are fully supported.
Can it handle a PDF with dozens of receipts combined?
Yes. If you have merged many receipts into one PDF (e.g., a month of expenses), PDF2Sheets processes each receipt separately and creates a row for each one in the output Sheet.
What about receipts in different currencies?
PDF2Sheets extracts the currency symbol and amount as shown on the receipt. You can add a currency column in the Sheet and use Google Finance functions to convert to your base currency.
